2.5 Axes - Profile Open Contour

Hints and tips for profile procedures

How to create this procedure: (see Creating a Procedure and Procedure Guide for general explanation.)

1. For Technology, choose 2.5 Axes as the main selection, and Profile Open Contour as the subselection.

2. Choose the appropriate cutter.

3. Define the contours (open or closed), part surfaces, and check surfaces.

4. Define the following Motion Parameters:

• Approach & Retract

• Clearance

• Entry & End Points

• Boundary Settings

• Tolerance & Surf. Offset

• Tool Trajectory

• Stock & Holder Tracking

• Optimizer

• User Parameters

5. Define the Machine Parameters.

6. When finished, you can choose from the following Procedure Options:

• Save & Close to suspend

• Save & Calculate to execute

• Cancel

• Save As
