Spark Gap/3D Offset

This is the distance between the electrode and the workpiece where discharges are occurring.

As the electrode wire approaches the work piece, a spark forms in the area called the spark gap. The wire never touches the workpiece since an arc of electrical current from the wire to the workpiece is what facilitates the cutting process.

(This parameter is set in the Electrode Machining section of the Procedure Parameter Table and appears in the following functions: Rough, ReRough, Finish, Cleanup and Pencil).
