Guide Points determine the tool trajectory. The Guide Points parameter appears in the procedure Surface Milling / Legacy Procedures / 3D Step.
When you have created Guide Points, the number of defined points is displayed in the Geometry Table.

As soon as you have created Guide Points, they
can then be used to guide the tool as entry
points.
The Guide Points option is now added to the Entry Points combo-box.

Select Guide Points as the Entry Points option
and the toolpath starts from one of the picked Guide Points.
If more than one Guide Point was defined, the system decides which
Entry Points to use.
Notes:
Guide Points is displayed as an Entry Point option if:
at least one Guide Point has been defined
Inside Out has been defined as the Tool Trajectory Cut Direction.

The maximum number of Guide Points cannot exceed 99.
You cannot pick more than one Guide Point at the same point.
You can pick a Guide Point in one of the following locations:
inside and outside a Part Contour
inside and outside a Guide Contour
between Guide and Part Contours.
The system ignores a Guide Point as an Entry Point if it is positioned inside an inner part contour or outside an outer part contour.
If the system cannot use a Guide Point as an Entry Point, the option Auto is used and the entry point is automatically generated.
