Select the type of Base for the Blank. The Base is the part of the blank that is not milled. The following Base types are available:

Select a regular Base for the Blank. Define the Blank parameters. |

Select a Stepped Base for the Blank. This is a Base with a small step which makes the measurement of the electrode NC offset easier. As this step can be easily measured, it can be use as a verification tool to ensure that the correct offset was used. |
Two additional Blank parameters are displayed - Step Height and Step Offset.
Step Height: Set the height of the step (example).
Step Offset: Set the size of the offset (step) (example).
Note: The default values for the parameters mentioned above are defined in the preferences under Electrode Preferences / Base / Stepped Base

Select a Shaped Base for the Blank. This is a Base that follows the geometry adjacent to the electrode burning area. For example, thin and long electrodes, which lie on a face with a steep slope are fragile and hard to machine. The solution for this problem is to create a base that will follow the geometry adjacent to the electrode burning area. This way the electrode ‘leg’ would be as short as possible and would also create a more robust electrode which would be safer to machine. |

An additional Blank parameter is displayed - Z Shift.
Z Shift: Set the size of the Base - offset from geometry adjacent to the electrode burning area (example).
Note: The default values for the parameter mentioned above is defined in the preferences under Electrode Preferences / Base / Shaped Base
