The Chamfer tool applies a chamfer to adjacent sketch entities in 2D and 3D sketches. This tool is available for both 2D and 3D sketches.

 

 How to use Chamfer command

1.

Click  button on the toolbar, or click Tools > Sketch Tools > Chamfer.

 

2.

Select the Chamfer Type. You can select either Distance-Distance or Distance-Angle.

Select the edges as shown below to apply chamfer at the intersection of edges.         

                                  

 

Options in Detail

            

·   Chamfer Type– You can choose the type of chamfer as one of the following.

 

·   Distance-Distance­ – If this option is enabled, chamfer is applied based on the distance-distance method.

·     

 

·   Distance-Angle - If this option is enabled, chamfer is applied based on the distance-angle method

·     

 

·   Distance1 –You can specify a value for Distance1 to apply chamfer. Make sure you enable Specify Value, in order to be able to specify the distance value.

 

·   Distance2 –You can specify a value for Distance2 to apply chamfer. Make sure you enable Specify Value, in order to be able to specify the distance value.

 

·   Angle –You can specify a value for Angle, if the chamfer type is Distance-Angle. Make sure you enable Specify Value, in order to be able to specify the angle value.
