Revolve add or remove material by revolving one or more profiles around a centerline.

 

 

How to use Revolve command

1.

Create sketch as the below image.

 

2.

Click  button on the toolbar, or click Insert > Solid > Revolve.

 

3.

Select created sketch for Base Sketch.

4.

Select the Method. Enter the Revolving Angle to 180 degree.

5.

Click OK.

 

 

Options in Detail

 

 

·   Base Sketch – Select the sketch to revolve.

 

·   Profiles – Sketch profile.

      

<Revolve Loop 1>             <Revolve Loop 1, 2 & 3>

 

·   Revolving Axis – Select an axis in the graphics area to revolve the sketch about that axis.

 

·   Method - You can select the method to revolve.

a) One Direction - Creates the revolve in one direction from the sketch.

 

b) Mid Plane - Creates the revolve in the clockwise and counter clockwise

directions from the sketch plane, which is located at the middle of the revolve

angle.

 

c) Two-Direction - Creates the revolve in the clockwise and counter        

clockwise directions from the sketch plane. Set the Revolving Angle

and the Revolving Angle 2. The total of the two angles cannot
exceed 360 degrees.

 

·   Revolving Angle - Angle to make the revolve feature.

·   Result Operator - This option is available when there exists two bodies.
       a) Cut:
When the two solids make an intersection, the resultant solid is cut to
          keep only the intersected part.
       b) Merge:
The resultant solid is merged with the first body.
