File > Publish > Point Stream... command exports selected mesh as stream of points that can be viewed using RapidForm Point Stream viewer. This viewer is a plug-in of Internet Explorer and it is automatically installed to a client PC when an rps file is viewed for the first time.

 

Note

You can rotate, pan or zoom in/out the model inside the Internet Explorer browser.

The result is a html file and rps file.

The lower version of rps files are supported.

Poly-vertex color can be imported and exported.

In viewing the file, you can use the same mouse/keyboard controls as those in the application.

 

Note

If you right click the image, the following pop up menu appears in the view.

 

l Reset View – Resets view to the original view.

l Model Information – Displays the Number Of Points and Size Of Model as shown below.

l Help – Displays the help to use mouse control as shown below.

l About RPS Viewer – Displays the RPS Viewer information.

 

How to use Point Stream command

                    

1.

Select File > Publish > Point Stream... in the menu

The following dialog tree appears:

Click  (OK) to publish the selected mesh; Otherwise click  (Cancel) to quit this operation.

The following dialog box appears:  

 

l Codebase

   Plug-in - Shows the location of the plug-in used to view the rps files

   Version - Shows the version of the rps viewer.

   Width and Height - Shows the width and height of the viewing area of the file.

 

l HTML File Path specifies the name and directory of a HTML document to be generated.

 

l Background specifies the background color of viewer. The range of RGB value is between 0 and 1. For example, (1 1 1) means white color and (0 0 0) means black color. Check Use Texture option to assign a specific image as a background.

 

l Antialiasing specifies whether or not to apply anti-alias effect when a model is in a static state in a viewer.

 

l Zoom Limit option limits the range of zoom-in when viewing a model in the viewer. No Limit allows you to zoom in a model infinitely. Bounding Sphere allows you to zoom in a model up to the boundary a bounding sphere. Nearest Distance allows you to zoom in a model up to a nearest distance. Limit Factor scales the zoom distance for the Bounding Sphere and Nearest Distance options.

 

l Launch Internet Explorer specifies whether the stored RPS file can be seen immediately to the Internet Explorer browser after publishing.

Click OK to publish the mesh. Otherwise click Cancel to quit this operation.

If it is your first time for you to publish a point stream, the time when you open the html file, this dialog box may appear:

Click Yes to install and run rpsviewer.cab.

If it is not the first time, the selected mesh will be immediately shown in the Internet Explorer browser.
