A window lets you preview an animation quickly.
The Playblast process takes a screen grab of the view at each frame, and then plays (blasts) the resulting images to a desktop movie player or the Fcheck utility.
Playblast images can be saved either as a movie file or as a sequence of images in various formats.
In other software packages, similar to make preview or linetest.
