hairConstraintShape
These are descriptions of the attributes in the hairConstraintShape node. For more information, see Set up hair constraints.
Constraint Method
This is the type of constraint: Rubber Band, Stick, Transform, Hair To Hair, Hair Bunch, Collide Sphere, Collide Cube. For descriptions of these constraint types, see Hair constraint types.
Stiffness
This is the stiffness of the spring attachments created by the constraint. The higher the Stiffness value, the more the curves tend toward the position of the rest curves. Default rest curves are normal to the object’s surface.
Glue Strength
This is the strength of the glue holding the constraint. A value less than one can allow the constraint to break during the simulation if the tension exceeds the strength. A value of one is infinitely strong and will not break. Rewind to frame 1 in order to re-glue. After a break, a setting of 1 reattaches the glue.
Point Method
These are the methods for calculating what point along the hair curve the constraint uses.
Nearest
This is the point along the hair curve nearest to the constraint locator at the start frame.
U Parameter
Using the value defined in the U Parameter attribute, constrains the point at that U value along the curve. The end of the curve is 1.0.
U Distance
Using the value defined in the U Distance attribute, constrains the point at that distance in worldspace from the start of the curve.
U Parameter
If the Point Method is U Parameter, this is the U value used in determining the point to constrain to along the curve. A value of 1 represents the tip of the hair curve.
U Distance
If the Point Method is U Distance, this is the U distance value, in world space units, used in determining the point to constrain to along the curve.
Local Position
These values represent the X, Y, Z location of the constraint locator in local space.
Curve Indices
These are the IDs of the hair curves affected by the constraint. The ID represents the index of the hair (UV grid location) on the hair system.
