Load cache files
You can save different cache files for the same scene. For example, if you are experimenting with different property values, you can save the cache using one set of values, change the values, re-run the simulation, and save the cache under a new name. You can load a cache file that has already been created.
To load a cache file
- Select the fluid container, and in the Attribute Editor, click the cache_fluidShape tab.
- Click the folder button next to the Cache File Name box.
- In the browser, select the .mfci or .mfcp cache file you want to load.
Files with an .mfci extension are initial state caches.
Files with an .mfcp extension are caches used for playback and rendering.
- Click the Assign button. The cache file loads into the fluid container.
Note
Only values turned on in the Grids Cache section of the fluidShape Attribute Editor are read from the cache.
