When you start AutoCAD 2007, you can choose the initial workspace.3D ModelingAutoCAD ClassicAutoCAD DefaultWhichever workspace you choose, you can always change it later. You can also customize and save your own customized workspaces.Note: The AutoCAD Default option is displayed only if you're migrating settings from a previous version of AutoCAD.3D Modeling Workspace The 3D Modeling workspace includes the new dashboard for convenient access to the new 3D features. The drawing area within the 3D Modeling workspace displays a gradient background color, a ground plane or workplane—the XY plane of the UCS—and a new, rectangular grid. This enhances 3D visualization and construction of 3D models. The new 3D cursor also provides an indication of the UCS orientation. The Model and layout tabs have been replaced with buttons on the status bar. These buttons provide extra space in the drawing area. However, if you prefer using the tabs, you can easily switch back by right-clicking the Model or layout buttons.
