Click inside a table cell where you
want to add a column or a row.
You can
select more than one cell to add more than one column or row.
On
the Table toolbar, select one of the following options:
Insert
Row Above. Inserts a row above the selected cell.
Insert
Row Below. Inserts a row below the selected cell.
Insert
Column Left. Inserts a column to the left of the selected
cell.
Insert
Column Right. Inserts a column to the right of the selected
cell.
NoteThe
cell style of the new column or row will be the same as that of
the originally selected column or row. To change the cell style,
right-click the cell or cells and click Cell Style.
Press
ESC to remove selection.

Shortcut menu: Select and right-click
a cell or range of cells. Click Rows or Columns and select an insertion
method.
