High-Resolution Renderings and Backgrounds

High-quality output from Autodesk VIZ does not necessarily require high-resolution images, but there will be times when you are required to print large still images, and high resolution may be the only option.

High resolution is a relative term, but in the case of Autodesk VIZ we will refer to renderings or bitmaps of 3,000 x 2,000 pixels or higher as high-resolution images. Autodesk VIZ can render images as large as 32,768 x 32,768 pixels.

Whenever you render high-resolution images you should allow for plenty of time. The higher the resolution, the more pixels Autodesk VIZ will need to calculate. Although it's not a hard and fast rule, whenever you double the final output dimensions (for example, from 320 x 240 to 640 x 480), you quadruple the render time.
