Tools menu > Isolate Selection's Layer

Select an object. > Right-click to open the quad menu. > Display quadrant > Isolate Selection's Layer

This command isolates the layer of the current selection, hiding all other layers. To de-isolate the layer, choose Unhide all from the quad menu or use the Layer Manager to unhide the other layers.
