The Subcase Manager utility may be used to create, edit and review subcase definitions.
This is a graphical interface that consolidates steps you would otherwise perform using a series of panels, including the subcase panel, in HyperMesh.
Main window:
The main window of the interface lists the subcases in a table and provides buttons to open other dialog boxes from which you can create and edit subcases and load collectors.
The subcase table shows the following columns of data for each subcase:
|
Export |
Indicates whether the subcase will be exported. If the check box is selected, the subcase will be written to the input file when exported from HyperMesh. |
|
SubCase Name (ID) |

The Subcase Manager window also includes the following options and buttons for defining subcases:

Load Collector Manager window:
In HyperMesh, each load or constraint must belong to a load collector. Therefore, when you select load types from the tree, the load collector table appears on the right so that you can choose corresponding load collectors.
The load collector table contains a list of the load collectors with their corresponding display and color status. You can create, edit, rename, reorder, and delete load collectors from this table. You can also organize (copy or move) loads into load collectors and edit the load labels here.
The load collector table contains the following columns for each load collector:
|
Name (ID) |
The name and ID of the load collector. |
|
Display |
Indicates whether the load collector display is on or off and the color used for the load collector. The color can be changed by clicking the color button and selecting a color from the palette. |
Click on a load collector name to set it as the current load collector in HyperMesh. All loads created from this point are placed into the selected load collector.
The Load Type: status bar (below the load collector table) shows all the load types present in the selected load collector.
The load collector table contains the following buttons:
|
New... |
Opens the Create Load Collector dialog on which you specify the name of the new load collector. The Create button in this dialog creates the load collector and adds it to the current subcase. |
|
Define... |
Takes you to the relevant panel in HyperMesh for the load type selected in the tree. From the panel that opens, you can create a new load entity or load collector card image. |
|
Card Preview… |
Opens the card image in HyperMesh. Note that this tool displays all the loads present in the selected load collector; if you want to see specific loads, use the HyperMesh card image subpanel instead. |
|
Delete |
Deletes selected load collector(s). |
|
Synchronize |
Synchronizes load collector manager with the current HyperMesh database. If you make manual updates from HyperMesh panels while the load collector manager is open, click Synchronize to update the load collector manager with the new changes. |
|
Close |
Closes the load collector manager window and returns to the main window. |
Subcase (ID) window:
The Subcase (ID) window contains options for creating or modifying a subcase in a tree form.
The following characteristics can be specified on this dialog box:
|
Label |
Select the Label branch in the tree window. Check box to activate the Label: field. Type a name for the subcase in the box. Click the Update button to apply the changes. |
|
Load reference |
Specify load collectors for case control commands. The supported case control commands are listed in the tree view; the list of available load collectors for that case control appears in the right side of the dialog. Select the Status check box to select a load collector. |
|
Output request |
Specify output requests for the subcase. To specify a case control command, highlight it in the tree list, then select the Export check box on the right side of the dialog and select the desired describers to build the case control command. |
|
Note: |
To add unsupported cards, highlight UNSUPPORTED in the list, type the card in the box, and click Apply. |
If you make manual updates from HyperMesh panels while the Subcase (ID) window is open, click Synchronize to synchronize subcase data with the current HyperMesh database.
Click Close to return to the main window.
