RESVEC – Controls Modal Acceleration Vector Calculation
The RESVEC command can be used in the Subcase Information section to control the calculation of modal acceleration vectors.
RESVEC(type) = option

Options |
Description |
|
type |
<UNITLOAD, |
UNITLOAD: |
Modal acceleration vectors are calculated based on unit vectors at the applied dynamic load degrees of freedom. |
| Default = APPLOAD |
APPLOAD: |
Modal acceleration vectors are calculated based on the applied dynamic load vector at zero frequency. |

|
option |
<YES, NO> |
YES: |
Modal acceleration vectors are calculated. |
|
|
See comments for default. |
NO: |
Modal acceleration vectors are not calculated. |
RESVEC can be requested for normal modes, modal frequency response, and transient response analysis subcases.
The default is YES for modal frequency response and transient response analysis subcases. The default is NO for normal modes analysis subcases. If a RESVEC card exists without the option, the default is YES.
If EXCITEID=SPCD is defined on RLOAD1/2 or TLOAD1/2, residual vectors are always computed even if RESVEC=NO.
Modal acceleration vectors will be calculated based on the type specified. In normal modes analysis subcases, the unit load method (type=UNITLOAD) is applied by default to the degrees of freedom defined by USET, USET1 entities.
