Altair OptiStruct has several statements to control input and output streams. These statements are used in the I/O options section of the input file. Most output options can also be used within the subcase definitions, in which case they only affect output from that subcase. A description of all valid entries in this section can be accessed from the List of I/O Options (by function) page of the Reference Guide section. A summary of the default settings for these streams is provided on the Summary of Defaults for I/O Options page of the same section.
Having defined the geometry and material properties of the structure, applied loads and boundary conditions, created subcases referencing the loads and boundary conditions, and defined I/O options, an analysis can now be performed. Details on how to do this can be found in the section Running OptiStruct.
It is highly recommended that a check run be performed before an analysis run. This will ensure that the OptiStruct model contains all of the necessary information for an analysis, and that this information is not conflicting. The CHECK statement may be entered at the top of the input file or the -check option can be used when running OptiStruct to perform a "check only" run.
