To define design variables for topography optimization:

1. Select the optimization panel on the Analysis page and select the topography panel.

or

Select Topography from the Optimization pull-down menu.

2. Select the create subpanel.

3. Click on desvar = and enter a name.

4. Select one or more shell components.

5. Click create.
