The Reports PropertyManager allows you to create Circuit Summary and Harness Bill of Materials reports of the active harness drawing. All harnessing reports are created as SolidWorks tables.

To create Harnessing reports:

  1. Click Routing, Electrical, Harness, Reports.

  2. Select Circuit Summary, Harness Bill of Materials, or both.

  3. Edit the options as described below, then click .

The reports appear in the harness drawing. See Harnessing Report Generation.

Circuit Summary

The Circuit Summary report is also called Wire List, Connectivity List, or Run List.

If a Circuit Summary exists, the report is overwritten with any new information. Clearing Circuit Summary and clicking does not delete a Circuit Summary report from the drawing.

Sheet. Identifies the name of the sheet on which the Circuit Summary report is placed. If the sheet exists in the drawing, the report is inserted at the lower left corner of that sheet. If the sheet does not exist, a new sheet is created.

Column headers. Lists the keywords that format the Circuit Summary report. The keywords are separated by commas (no spaces). You can edit and add to the list. The first keyword must be Name. The remaining keywords match properties on a wire. The default column headers are:

Name,PartNumber,Length,From,To

Length, From, and To keywords are special to wire objects. The software automatically processes the length of the wire and its from-to connector pin information from these keywords.

In order for information on a new keyword to appear in the report, a Library property with the keyword must be present on each wire part. See Creating a Harness Library.

Anchor report at top. Attaches the top of the Circuit Summary to the anchor point.

To move a table, hold Alt and drag from anywhere inside the table.

Harness Bill of Materials

If a Harness Bill of Materials exists, the report is overwritten with any new information. Clearing Harness Bill of Materials and clicking does not delete a Harness Bill of Materials from the drawing.

Sheet. Identifies the name of the sheet on which the Harness Bill of Materials is placed. If the sheet exists in the drawing, the report is inserted at the lower left corner of that sheet. If the sheet does not exist, a new sheet is created.

Column headers. Lists the keywords that format the Harness Bill of Materials. The keywords are separated by commas (no spaces). You can edit and add to the list (for example, add PartNames to include the connector names in the report). The default column headers are:

Partnumber,QTY

Partnumber, QTY, and PartNames keywords are special to harness objects. The software automatically processes objects' part number, quantity, and individual name (where applicable) from these keywords.

In order for information on a new keyword to appear in the report, a library property with the keyword must be present on each harness object. See Creating a Harness Library.

Insert type headers. Separate rows are labeled for each type of harness material (Wires, Parts, and so on).

Anchor report at top. Attaches the top of the Harness Bill of Materials to the anchor point.

Auto balloon parts and Auto balloon coverings. Inserts a balloon for each part and covering and includes the item number in the Harness Bill of Materials.
