Create linear sketch patterns using sketch entities on a plane or on a part or assembly:
Select an edge from a part or an assembly to define Direction 1 for X-axis.
Direction 2 for the Y-axis is active as soon as you select Direction 1.
If you do not select Direction 1 first, you must manually select Direction 2 to activate it.
Select sketch entities in the graphics area
for Entities to Pattern
.
If the sketch entities to pattern are pre-selected,
Entities to Pattern is populated,
and you can select to pattern along either axis by setting a value for
Number
.
Reverse direction
. Reverse the pattern direction.
Spacing
. Space between the pattern instances.
Add Dimension. Dimensions between the pattern instances.
Number
. Number of pattern instances.
Angle
. Angular direction other than horizontal (X
axis) for the pattern instances.
Number
. Number of pattern instances along the Y
axis.
Set a value for Number
to activate Direction
2 settings.
Reverse direction
. Reverse the pattern direction.
Spacing
. Space between the pattern instances.
Add Dimension. Display dimensions between the pattern instances.
Angle
. Angular direction other than vertical (Y
axis) for the pattern instances.
The value of the angle along
Y axis depends on the direction
of the pattern along the Y axis,
and the value you set for the angle along the X
axis.
Add angle dimension between axes. The angle between the patterns along the X and Y axis.
Click Instances to Skip and
with the pointer
, select instances in the graphics area
that you do not want to include in the pattern.
To edit linear sketch patterns:
Right-click a pattern instance and select Edit Linear Pattern.
