To display mode shapes
In order to use the Mode Shape Tool you must have first performed an analysis type which results in the calculation of these.
Help: If you are interested in mode shapes you may wish to review the whole topic of vibration analysis options. For further information see Vibration Analysis Options. 1. When you choose the Mode Shape Tool the Data Bar will reconfigure to allow you to specify the results in which you are particularly interested.

2. Choose the mode shape you want to see by picking it from the Choose a load case list in the Views and Grids toolbar. Alternatively enter a Mode Shape number in the Data Bar to view a single mode shape or tick the All box in the Data Bar to display all mode shapes superimposed over each other.
Note: You can click the View Next icon () or View Previous icon ( ) in the Views and Grids toolbar button to select the next / previous mode shape respectively in the list.
3. Select the section size in which you are interested from the list in the Data Bar or choose to display the mode shape of all of the sections with this size.
4. Select the type of element in which you are interested from the list in the Data Bar or choose to display the mode shapes of all of the types.
6. If you want to see the details for a particular node, then double click that node or right click it and then choose from the context menu that appears.
