Use this dialog box to select the tools that appear by default when you click the Select Tool button from the operation dialog. Remember to choose Inch Library or Metric Library.
The following settings typically apply only to 4- and 5-Axis NC machines.
Use Gage Length for all Milling Operations
If checked, milling operations output the Z Gage Length value from the Tool Information tab. If your post is written to apply the Z Gage Length value, the value will be output to the NC code. If not checked, the Z Gage Length value will be grayed out and the operation will not output the value.
Use Gage Length for all Lathe Operations
This setting works like Use Gage Length for all Milling Operations, but applies to Lathe Operations and includes the X Gage Length value.
Tool List Sorting
Define how to sort tools that appear when the you click the Select Tool button. From the menus, click Tools > Options. In the left pane, click NC Defaults > Tools. The new Tool List Sorting option lets you sort the tools three different ways, as follows.
By Diameter
This the default option and sorts the tools by diameter.
Tool Number
This option sorts the tools by their Tool Number from the tool library.
Database Number
This option sorts the tools by database row. See Add a Tool Table. This option disables the five diameter sorting buttons at the bottom of the list.
