Setting a Stationary Reference Frame

A reference frame may be a region value added by the Stationary model or a boundary value added by the tangential velocity specification at a boundary.

To set the stationary reference frame, open the Physics Values node, then select the Reference Frame node. The Axis and Origin vector properties can be specified in the Properties window.

The stationary reference frame specifies an axis and an origin. The information provided by this axis definition is important for the creation of periodic interfaces for a region and for subsequent transformations involving these interfaces. It may also be used by a tangential velocity specification at a boundary to specify the local axis and origin of wall rotation.

Reference Frame Properties

Axis

A Cartesian unit vector specifying the direction of the rotation axis.

Origin

Cartesian position vector specifying the origin of the axis.
