The SimOffice Navigator window is the central repository for relevant information about the model you are working on. Elements of the model may be selected here and many functions effected by using the right mouse button. In addition, cut and paste and drag and drop operations function where appropriate.
There are three main areas in the navigator which are selected by tabs:
The Simulation
Navigator
Displays the model folder which contains the property, material and
study folders. Each study folder contains loadcase folders which, in turn,
contain loads, constraints and result sets. Most work such as adding studies,
applying loads and constraints, analyzing the model and viewing the results
can be done from this navigator.
The Groups
Navigator
Displays all currently defined geometry entity groups. When you start
SimOffice, a default group will be created that will contain all elements
of the model. When working with a complex model, you may find it helpful
to create groups that focus on certain areas of interest. Groups are useful
for performing operations on selected entities without having to select
them all with the cursor.
The Selection
Navigator
Displays currently selected geometry entities. Entities may be selected
with the cursor or by using the select function on a geometry entity group.
When using the cursor, multiple entities are selected by holding down
the Ctrl key. Selected geometry entities are shown in the top section
of the navigator. The bottom section provides a useful way of selecting
ambiguous, for instance overlapping, entities. When you select the ambiguous
entities, they are displayed in the bottom section of the navigator where
you can select the one you actually want.
