Defining the Material Properties and Meshing
Select the body to apply material properties and mesh.
1.
On the Home tab, in the Picking Methods group, click the Solid Geometry Filter.
2.
Select the solid body and right click select Create Properties.
The Create Properties form appears.
3.
Select Steel from the Material Name drop-down list.
4.
Type in Forged_Steel for the Property name.
5.
Click OK.
6.
Create a mesh by right clicking on the solid and selecting Create Mesh.
7.
Click OK.
The finite element mesh appears.
The Simulation Tree View displays the current load case, “gear_fitting_1_BritishSystem(FPS)”, the associated element properties (to the solid) and the load sets.
