Applying Loads and Constraints
SimOffice uses the right mouse click functionality extensively as demonstrated in this section. For applying loads and constraints to your model, you can conveniently select geometry or mesh entities from the screen and then use your right mouse button to access the loads and constraint types. To help you select only the type of entities you wish to constrain or load, use the filter options available on the Home tab.
To apply loads and constraints:
1.
On the Home tab, in the Picking Methods group, click the arrow next to Activate Filters.
2.
From the gallery list of filter types, click Clear Filters to reset the filters, then click Visible Entities Only.
With Visible Entities turned ON you can only select visible entities. Any entities hidden from view will not be available.
3.
In the Geometry Filters group, click Face.
4.
Select the inner diameter of the fitting attached to the axle.
5.
Right click, select Loads/Constraints and select Add Structural Constraint.
6.
Toggle Fixed for all translations.
7.
8.
From the Activate Filters list, unselect Visible Entities Only.
9.
10.
Right click, select Load/Constraints and select Add Total Load.
The Create Total Load window appears.
11.
Enter -7080. lbf in the global Y direction as the total load representing the landing.
