Introduction to Test Mode 
 
Steps for Running Examples
Exercise 1
This exercise demonstrates how to build and run events in the Test mode.
Procedure
1.

In the upper section of the treeview (bookshelf), expand Full Vehicle and then expand Handling Analyses.

Double-click Swept Steer.

If you have two models loaded in the Build mode, the Select Model For New Event window appears. Select achassis_gs_full_sys and then select OK.
Adams/Chassis adds a new fingerprint, fingerprint_1, to the treeview. The event, achassis_gs_full_sys_swpt, is added to fingerprint_1.

The property editor displays the SweptSteer event.

In the bookshelf, double-click Double Lane Change. The event, achassis_gs_full_sys_dlane, is added to fingerprint_1. The model currently selected (achassis_gs) will automatically be used.

Use the bookshelf to add events Straight Line Acceleration and Straight Line Deceleration to fingerprint_1.

In the fingerprint tree, select fingerprint_1 to see events table in the property editor.

In the fingerprint tree, select events achassis_gs_full_sys_swpt and achassis_gs_full_sys_dlane.
9.
The command window appears to show build and run outputs.

Exercise 2
This exercise demonstrates some of the features that are available in the fingerprint tree.
Procedure

Select Copy Selected Fingerprint from the shortcut menu.
Adams/Chassis adds a new fingerprint, fingerprint_1_copy, with same events as that of fingerprint_1.

Right-click fingerprint_1_copy.

From the shortcut menu, select Change Fingerprint units to English. The table in the property editor performs the conversion and shows the converted values.

Right-click fingerprint_1_copy to convert the values back to SI units.
6.
Right-click fingerprint_1_copy and from the shortcut menu select Replace Model for Full Vehicles events.

In the Select File window that appears, select Example Vehicles, double-click bcar.vdb, double-click systems.tbl, select bcar_full_sys.xml and then select Open.

The fingerprint_1_copy now has events with the prefix bcar.
Exercise 3
In this exercise, you'll load an Adams/Chassis 12.0 fingerprint and create request files that will be used in Introduction to Review Mode.
Procedure
1.
Select Load Fingerprint in the toolbar.
2.
Select working directory, select and open apre_120.fp.
Adams/Chassis adds this new fingerprint as apre_120.

Change apre_gs_full_sys_jturn_1 to apre_gs_full_sys_jturn_90.
4.
Change apre_gs_full_sys_jturn_2 to apre_gs_full_sys_jturn_180.

In the property editor, change the Turn Direction for apre_gs_full_sys_jturn_90 to right.

Select Build and Run Selected Events for the j-turn events.
8.
Select fingerprint apre_120. Right-click and select Save Fingerprint As.
9.
Save the fingerprint apre_120 as achassis_2003.xml.
