Select >> Select Bad Polygon

• Select >> Select Bad Polygon command makes bad polygon faces selected. Please refer to the content below for the definition of bad face.

• The ratios of the bad polygon face number/area to the whole face number/area are shown.

Step

Execute Select >> Select Bad Polygon command as follows.

1. Select Select >> Select Bad Polygon from the menu.

2. The following dialog box appears:

Edge-height ratio means, for a triangle face, the ratio of its longest edge length to the corresponding height. If it is bigger than the specified value, the corresponding triangle face is treated as bad face. If Select is clicked, you have to pick a shell and the bad faces on it will be selected.

Face angle is used to select faces that has a big angle in between. When Share edge is checked, if two triangle faces sharing one edge have an angle at it bigger than the specified value, they are treated as bad faces. When Share vertex is checked, if the angle between two triangle faces sharing one vertex is bigger than the specified value, they are treated as bad faces. If Select is clicked, you have to pick a shell and the bad faces on it will be selected.

4. Result section displays the bad face number, the whole face number and the ratio between them, as well the bad face area, the whole face area and the ratio between them.
