Tool >> Export Slices >> Shell / Model

• Tool  >> Export Slices  >> Shell / Model command slices a specified shell or model and exports the corresponding data in a file format.

Step   

Execute Tool  >> Export Slices  >> Shell / Model command as follows:

1. If a user wants to export slice data for all shells of current model, select Tool  >> Export Slices  >> Model from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the RP toolbar.

2. If a user wants to export slice data only for a shell, select Tool  >> Export Slices  >> Shell from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the RP toolbar.

3. In case a user executes Tool  >> Export Slices  >> Shell, select a shell to be sliced and exported. ( See Shell selection )

4. The following dialog box appears.

Layer Thickness is the distance between layers ( slice ).

Check View Section Only option to see only the section curves to be generated while hiding the shell

Check Align to Screen option to change the viewpoint so that the model is viewed from selected axis.

Check All in Export Option to export all the slice data.

Uncheck All in Export Option and assign a specific Slice Number to export.

Press Preview button to see rough result in advance.

Please note that Export Option is activated after Preview is executed once.

If all the options are assigned, press Export.

5. The file export dialog box appears. Select a file format among DXF, CLI, SLI, and SLC and assign a desired file name.

6. Press Save to complete this operation.

Note  

• The exported slice data file can be transferred directly to the system software of Rapid Prototyping machines.

• RapidForm automatically fixes the problem which can occur in the slice process.
