Curve >> Tool >> Convert to Shell
Curve >> Tool >> Convert to Shell command converts the selected curves into a point cloud through the tessellation process. The new shell may consist of uniform or non-uniform point clouds, or it can be constructed with only the end points of the curves.
Step
- Execute Curve >> Tool >> Convert to Shell command as follows:
- 1. Select Curve >> Tool >> Convert to Shell from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the Curve toolbar.
- 2. Then Tessellate Curves Options dialog box shows up.
- 3. A user can select one of three different options, Uniform Tessellation, Non-uniform Tessellation and Custom Tessellation. Uniform Tessellation produces points which are uniformly distributed in the parametric U domain. Point cloud produced by Non-uniform Tessellation method tends to be dense in high curvature region and sparse in flat curvature region. With Custom Tessellation Option, user can specify Chord Height, Angle Tolerance, Max. 3D Distance Between Points. If Use Curve Node Point Only option is checked, only the nodes of the curve become the points.
