Base Profile >> Create Section Plane

• Base Profile >> Create Section Plane command creates a section plane from two seed points picked on a shell.

• It creates a section plane on a polygonal shell and this section plane is perpendicular to feature (ex.Extrude, Cut, Revolution, Hole) direction. 

Step

Execute Base Profile >> Create Section Plane command as follows:

1. Select Base Profile >> Create Section Plane from the menu or click the corresponding icon on the Feature toolbar.

2. Left-click to pick two seed points on a shell. 

 

Result  

• A reference plane is created at the location of the first picked seed point. rapidform uses the polygonal faces around the first picked seed point to optimize the section plane direction.

• The created reference plane is registered to the Planes node in Project Tree Window.

Note  

• Two picked seed points' polygon normals shouldn't be parallel to each other.
