BLANKNEST is specifically designed for nesting sheet metal blanks on coils. It automatically calculates the best nesting layout to optimize material utilization based on blank die costs (includes production volume, blank die cost per unit length or total die cost), layout parameters (part edge bridge and coil edge bridge), and layout constraints (pitch, width, blank angle). BLANKNEST allows you to quickly evaluate multiple nesting scenarios such as cutoff dies (rectangle, miter, trapezoid, parallelogram, & chevron), one up, two up, and mirror layouts. The different nesting layouts can be evaluated based on material utilization, cost per blank, die cost, or total cost.

BLANKNEST also allows you to manipulate or fine tune any nesting layout provided in the Nesting Workbench. You can test how adjustments to the blank orientation or the coil edge of the automatically generated nest will effect material utilization, cost, etc. The edited nest layout can then be exported in either IGES or DXF format.
