Data Files in Strategy Manager

Strategy Manager makes use of data description files (with the extension .xml) containing lists of the available attributes.

A left-hand mouse click on the icon will display the relevant attributes in the Attribute Browser.

 
Feature Attributes

Right click on the icon and pick the appropriate feature type for this strategy. Feature.xml contains attribute lists for hole and pocket strategies.

Feature attributes are mainly geometric values, plus Name, Comment, Colour and Layer data for the feature. These attributes are set when a feature(s) is selected.

 
Tool Attributes

The tool attributes list is preset to the appropriate file. Tool attributes are set when a tool is selected from ToolStore by the strategy

 
Job Attributes

The job attributes list is preset to an appropriate file. Job attributes are set from the Job file, EdgeCAM part data and ToolStore technology data as appropriate.

 
User Attributes

New user attributes may be created as required, see Creating User Attributes.

 
Note that the ...\cam\strategy folder also contains a file toolchange.xml that is used with the tool change and filter mechanism.
