Foliage Distribution

In nature, different species of trees have different arrangements of leaves. Some trees have leaves that are clustered together while others have leaves that spiral around a branch in an almost symmetrical pattern. Bryce offers five different leaf arrangements: Stacked, Staggered, Spiral, Bunched, and Coniferous.

To choose a leaf distribution, click the button beside one of the following options:

• Stacked: leaves are arranged in pairs on each side of the branch. If there is an odd number of leaves, a single leaf will be placed at the tip of the branch.
• Staggered: leaves alternate on each side of the branch. If there is an odd number of leaves, a single leaf will be placed at the tip of the branch.
• Spiral: leaves are arranged around the branch in a spiral formation.
• Bunched: leaves are clustered at the tip of the branch.
• Coniferous: leaves are placed along the middle of the branch.

The image below shows examples of the different distribution options.

Please note that on trees that are densely populated with branches, segments, and/or leaves, the difference between some distribution options may not be very obvious. This is especially true for the staggered and spiral options. Decreasing the number of leaves or their scale will make the difference more obvious.
