Exporting Presets

Importing and exporting presets is a handy way to exchange custom presets with other users and to store objects for later use. It can also be used to reduce the file size of a category when several presets have been deleted from the library.

To export a preset from any library:

  1. Open the preset library you want to delete from: Objects, Materials, Skies, Textures, or Brushes.
  2. Select the category from which you want to export presets.
  3. Select the preset or presets you wish to export. Hold down Shift and select a continuous series of presets or hold down Cmd/Ctrl and select a discontinuous set of presets.

  4. Click the Export button at the bottom of the dialog. The save file dialog appears.

  5. Enter a name and location for the file and click Save. The file will be saved to the location you selected with the correct extension for the preset type. If exporting objects to reduce the file size, name the exported file the same name as the one it will be replacing.

  6. Click on the OK icon to close the library.

To replace a category OBP file with one you just exported, refer to "Recovering Disk Space in the Libraries".
