Maximum Ray Depth and Transmissions

Transmissions are controlled by the Maximum Ray Depth setting which determines how far light travels through transparent objects. The levels rendered include each side of the object. So, if you use a cube, remember that it has two sides for transmissions to go through. If you use a 2D Face, only one side is used for transmissions.

Just remember when using this feature that the more levels of transmission you select, the more render times are increased.

The examples below use five thin cubes placed one behind the other (remember, two sides per cube).

For brevity's sake, "MRD" will be used instead of "Maximum Ray Depth."
