Open File

The Open command allows you to select a previously saved scene to work on. A standard Open File dialog box appears, allowing you to navigate to the folder containing your desired file and select it for opening. Note that this will clear your existing scene, though you will be prompted to save any work you've performed on the current scene before the other one is opened. This action will also clear and reset the Undo/Redo stack.

To open a previously saved scene file:

  1. Choose File > Open from the menu or press Ctrl+O or, on the PC only, set the NumLock, then press Ctrl+/ (divide on numpad). The Open File dialog will come up. You can also open a scene file by double-clicking on the Bryce scene file itself although this will open the file in a new copy of Bryce (Mac Issue 10).
  2. Navigate to the folder where the scene file is located and select it. If the scene file is from an earlier version of Bryce, choose the file type from the Files of type pull-down menu, then locate, and select the scene file.

Note: Bryce 5 and 5.5 scene files can be opened in either Bryce 5 or 5.5.
  3. Click on Open to open the scene in Bryce.
