Form: Define Views
A named view is a 2-D, 3-D, or developed elevation view for which the settings are saved using a user-specified name so that those setting can be quickly reapplied to the model shown in the active display window.
Click the Define menu > Named View command to access the Define Views form.
Use the Choose Type of View to Add drop-down list to select the type of view for which settings are to be specified and saved.
Click the appropriate button:
Add View button
If the Add New 2D View from Ordinate option is selected in Step 2, the Set 2D View form will appear when the Add View button is clicked. 2D views are parallel to one of the coordinate planes. Use the form to set the view options.
If the Add New 3D View from Current Window option is selected in Step 2, click the Add View button and the program will immediately save the settings for the currently active 3-D window. This option is only available if the 3-D view is active before the Define menu > Named View command is clicked.
If the Add New Developed Elevation View option is selected in Step 2, the Define Developed Elevation form will appear when the Add View button is clicked. Use the form to set the view options.
Note: Drawing a developed elevation also creates a named view that can be viewed as described in Step 4.
Modify/Show View button
Highlight the name of a Named View in the Views list.
Click the Modify/Show View button. Depending on the type of view selected, a form will appears. Use the form to make necessary changes. See the description for the Add View button for information about the various forms.
Delete View button
Highlight the name of a Named View in the Views list.
Click the Delete View button to delete the view.
After a Named View has been defined, use the View menu > Set Named View command to change the active display window to the selected named view.
