Adding a Cutter

Create a new cutter via the Cutter Table dialog.

Note: If a cutter is added from within a procedure, the cutter database is updated as well as the display of the Process Management section of the Group Management dialog.

To define a new cutter:

  1. Select the cutter type from the pull down menu.

  1. Click the create new button.

  1. The Add Cutter dialog is displayed:

Enter the new Cutter Name, set the following machining parameters and press OK :

Units:

Units of measurement (MM/Inch).

Magazine No:

The magazine number of the machining center that holds the cutter.

Number. of Teeth:

The number of teeth in the cutter.

Ramp Angle:

 

Min. Plunge Diameter:

 

Feed:

 

Vc:

 

Pitch:

The Vertical distance between two turns.

Spin:

 

Coolant:

 

Comment:

Enter an appropriate comment, if required.

Note: Certain behavioral rules apply when adding/editing machining parameters.

  1. The new cutter appears in the Cutter List in the Cutter Table dialog. All currently defined cutters are listed here. Select the cutter and press OK .
