Divide

Open Object

The two options for performing divide are:

• As Trim

• As Boolean

As Trim

The part shown below consists of an object about to be divided by an open cylindrical object.

Required Step 1

Select the object (open or closed) to be divided by an open object. In this case, the blue face is selected. Press exit.

Required Step 2

Select the dividing tool, in this case the open yellow cylinder.

Press OK or Apply in the Feature Guide to complete the function.

In order to view the result, select the Filter Objects icon, pick the yellow cylinder (dividing object), and select the Hide icon to view how the object was divided.

As Boolean

The part shown below consists of an object about to be divided by an open cylindrical object.

Required Step 1

Select the object (open or closed) to be divided by an open object. In this case, the blue face is selected. Press exit .

Select the dividing tool, in this case the open yellow cylinder.

Press OK or Apply in the Feature Guide to complete the function.

In order to view the result, select the Filter Objects icon, pick the yellow cylinder (dividing object), and select the Hide icon to view how the object was cut.
