Guide Points determine the tool trajectory. The Guide Points parameter appears in the procedure Surface Milling / Legacy Procedures / 3D Step.

Creating Guide Points

Once in point selection mode, there are several ways to select points. See Selecting Contours for details.

  1. Select the Guide Point value in the Geometry Table. You are prompted to start picking the Guide Points.
    The Selection Filter is automatically set to enable you to pick screen, close, end and mid-points.
    If, at this stage, you display the Guide Point submenu, all the options are grayed out.

  1. Pick the Guide Points using the defined Selection Filter point options.

Once you have selected a point, the submenu displays the Reset option. Pressing Reset will remove all the Guide Points and reset the Guide Point value in the Geometry Table to zero.

  1. To display all the submenu options, pick one of the Guide Points you have already marked and then right click the mouse.

  2. Press Exit to leave the Guide Point option.

 

Deleting a Guide Point

  1. Pick the Guide Point to be deleted, display the Guide Point submenu and select Delete.

  1. The Guide Point is deleted and the Guide Point value in the Geometry Table is updated.

 

Modifying a Guide Point

  1. Pick the Guide Point to be modified, display the Guide Point submenu and select Modify.

  1. Pick the new position for the Guide Point.

  1. The Guide Point position is modified.
