Required Step 2

Create faces that are extended in a specified direction.

A direction is always set for these extensions. This direction should point to the direction of the extension (usually the + Z direction). The direction is represented by an arrow.

The length options are:

 

Length

Create a directional extension to a specified length.

Specify the length.

Minimum Distance

Create a directional extension to a minimum distance, in the extension direction, from the furthest point on the contour.

Specify the minimum distance.

To Plane

Create a directional extension to a specified plane.

Indicate the plane to which the faces must extend.

To Point

Create a directional extension to a specified point.

Indicate the point to which the faces must extend.

To Blank

Create a directional extension up to the faces of the blank.

 

Note: If the extension faces exceed the boundaries of the blank, they will be trimmed.

 

Optional Step 1

If you wish to add a step, proceed to Optional Step 1.

Optional Step 2

If you wish to add a draft angle to the extension, proceed to Optional Step 2.

Optional Step 3

If you wish to add a filler face, proceed to Optional Step 3.

 

Press OK or Apply in the Feature Guide to complete the function.

When completed, the Extension will appear in the Feature Tree as follows:
