This feature allows you to connect ID numbers with BOM data to an Assembly model. Numbers are assigned automatically based on whether they are first level or only parts. Different numbers are also assigned according to part type.
To connect BOM data:
Select ID Number
from the drafting entities toolbar.
Pick the graphics area where you wish to place the ID Number symbol.
Pick the geometry where you wish to place the leader. (If you have set Place leader at the center of the component in the Preferences Editor under Tools/Preferences/Drafting/General/BOM, the leader will automatically be placed in the center of the picked component).
Click the Connect
to component button
, then click the component whose
data will be attached to the ID number.
If required, change the ID Number. It will be updated automatically in the BOM.
To create an entry in the BOM for a geometry that does not exist in the Assembly:
Select ID Number
from the drafting entities toolbar.
Pick the graphics area where you wish to place the ID Number symbol.
Click the Connect
Dummy button
, then pick the assembly and exit
twice. A new row is added to the BOM with the next available serial number.
The ID text of an ID-number representing a part is defined in the idnum.dat file in the following path: Cimatron\CimatronE\Program\IT\dat.
The idnum.dat file lists the catalog components and plates are grouped numerically as shown in the sample portion below:

Notes:
The default Parts only or First level components options are defined in the Preferences Editor under Tools/Preferences/Drafting/General/BOM.
If you change an individual Id Number, it will be automatically updated in the BOM. However a change made in the BOM is not reflected in the ID number.
