Export a Part and Assembly document to the Drafting environment. This creates a Drafting template from the model.

General Interaction
To export a Part and Assembly document to the Drafting environment:
In the part/assembly main menu, select File / Export / To Drafting.
From the Drafting Templates dialog, select the template according to which the part will be displayed in the sheet, as follows:

Click OK
to apply the selected
drafting template to the open part document. The following dialog is displayed:

The Apply Drafting Templates dialog contains the following areas:
The Model M-View Tree area (on the left side of the window), automatically displays the active model tree view, as displayed in the M-View tab of the parting document tree view.
The Template Layout area (on the right side of the window), contains the models that exist in the assigned drafting template.
Note: The system automatically assigns the active models to models in the Template Layout area on the right. M-Views on the left containing identical names to the views on the right are assigned automatically.
From
the Model M-View Tree area, select
the required model view that you want to assign to the required drafting
template view in the Template Layout
area on the right and click Assign
. The selected model view on the left is assigned to the
selected drafting template view on the right, as shown in the example
below:

Notes:
You can
click the Delete
button to remove a model from the window. You can click the
Open
button to
add another model or to replace a drafting template.
After the
assignment has been performed, when selecting the assigned section M-View,
the Switch to 2D
Section
/ Switch to 3D
Section
toggle button is enabled. You can then toggle these options to create
a 3D section view or 2D section view, as required. (In this example, the
section M-View will be created in 2D view).
If
the Template
Layout area, contains
one model only, the selected model
on the left will be assigned
automatically to the drafting template on the right
.
If the drafting template contains more than one model, the system
automatically assigns, the active model to
all of them.
The same M-View can be assigned to more than one view in the drafting template.
Each model branch contains the number of views that have been defined in the template.
To unassign
a model view from the drafting template, select the view and then click
the Unassign
button.
Click the required option, as follows:
Click the
OK &
Open Document
icon to save and open the drafting
document or click OK
to
save the drafting document without opening it. The Cimatron E Explorer is displayed.
The name of the selected part with the drawing extension is automatically
displayed in the name field, as follows:

Click
Save. The Drafting document is
created and the document name appears in the
Cimatron E Explorer. If the
OK & Open Document
icon was selected in step 6.
The Drafting document that was created is automatically displayed,
as shown in the following example:
Note: The view will be scaled according to the template default (As view's scale or Best fit, as described in Save Sheet as Template).
