Last exit defines how the tool should exit the part when the toolpath is finished. This includes where the tool should go after finishing the toolpath
Default setting is back to clearance area. So the tool comes from the drive surface, moves to the feed distance, then rapid distance and finally to clearance area. If you choose last exit to rapid distance or feed distance, the machining ends with this distances.
