Chief Architect allows you to model the terrain around a house. Begin by specifying elevation data that creates the surface contours, and then add surface features. Chief Architect builds a three dimensional map of the terrain. The more information provided, the better the terrain models.
Once the terrain is modeled, shadows that follow the terrain can be created using the Sun Angle tool. The road and sidewalk tools are covered in the next chapter. See "Roads & Sidewalks".
