Description This command is used to program the currently focused physical device, using a chosen programming file.

Use This command is only available when the Devices view is configured to be 'Live'. To enter this mode, ensure that the Live option in the Devices view is enabled.

Ensure that the FPGA device that you wish to program currently has the focus in the Hard Devices chain of the view. A device on the chain is given the focus simply by clicking on its corresponding icon in the chain.

After launching the command, the Choose Programming File dialog will appear. Use the dialog to browse to and open an existing FPGA programming file that has been built specifically for that device.

Progress of the download will be shown in the Status bar and upon successful programming, a confirmation dialog will appear and the text underneath the device's icon (in the Hard Devices chain) will change from "(Reset)" to "(Programmed)".

Notes The physical device to be programmed will reside either on a connected NanoBoard (on a Daughter Board plug-in) or on a User/Production Board connected to a NanoBoard.

This command allows you to download any design that has previously been built specifically for the focused device, without having to open the project for that design and/or choose the correct project-configuration combination in the Devices view.

If the programming file chosen for download is not that of the currently selected project-configuration combination for the device (in the Devices view), the Soft Devices chain will not reflect those devices included in the downloaded design, or their statuses.
