Description This command is used to change the currently focused physical device, with the indicated physical device, in the Hard Devices region of the Devices view.

Use This command is only available when the Devices view is configured to be 'Not Live'. To enter this mode, ensure that the Live option in the Devices view is disabled.

Ensure also, that the physical device that you wish to change currently has the focus in the Hard Devices region of the view. This is achieved by simply clicking once on the icon for the device.

After launching the command, the indicated physical device will replace the focused device. The indicated project/configuration combination will be used, appearing in the associated drop-down below the device's icon.

The original device will be removed from and the substitute device added to, the list of devices in the Design Workspace - Physical Device List dialog.

Notes In the Hard Devices region of the Devices view, the right-click Change sub-menu (accessed when the cursor is over a device icon) is divided into three sections:

The top section lists up to ten distinct physical devices that have been detected in the configuration(s) of the current FPGA project.

The middle section lists the most recent (up to a maximum of ten) physical devices that have been previously added to the Hard Devices region.

The bottom section provides the Browse command. Choosing this command will open the Choose Physical Device dialog, from where you can browse through and choose from, a number of devices available across different device families and from different Vendors.
