Description This command is used to place elliptical shaped objects on the current document.

Use After launching the command, the cursor will change to a crosshair and you will enter ellipse placement mode. Simply click or press ENTER to anchor the center of the ellipse.

The cursor will then jump to the horizontal edge of the ellipse. Move the cursor to adjust the horizontal radius and then click or press ENTER to set it.

The cursor will then jump to the vertical edge of the ellipse. Move the cursor to adjust the vertical radius and click or press ENTER to set it and complete placement of the ellipse.

Continue placing further ellipses, or right-click or press ESC to exit placement mode.

Press the TAB key during placement to edit the object's properties.

Press the SPACEBAR while in placement mode to rotate the ellipse. Rotation is anti-clockwise and in steps of 90°.

Notes Any changes made to object properties during placement will cause the default properties for the object to be updated, unless the Permanent option in the Default Primitives tab of the Preferences dialog is enabled. When this option is enabled, changes made will affect only the object being placed and subsequent objects placed during the same placement session.
