Description This command is used to clear the selected object(s) from the current document and copy them to the Schematic Editor's clipboard.

Use Make sure that the object(s) that you want to cut are selected and then launch the command. The cursor will change to a crosshair and you will be prompted to select a reference point, if the Clipboard Reference option is enabled in the Graphical Editing tab of the Preferences dialog. This is a coordinate relative to the selected object(s) and is used to

accurately position the selection when using the paste command.

If the Clipboard Reference option is disabled, then the current cursor position is used as the reference point.

If you require the sheet template to be added as part of the copy (containing border, title block, etc.), then make sure that the Add Template to Clipboard option is enabled in the Graphical Editing tab of the Preferences dialog.

Notes The Design Explorer does not use the Windows clipboard for normal cut operations in schematic documents. Instead, a separate internal clipboard is maintained for this document type. Also, the internal schematic clipboard is entirely independent of the internal clipboards used by the editors of other Design Explorer-based servers. You can only cut and paste between or within schematic documents.

While the schematic clipboard is normally independent of the Windows clipboard, there is some limited interaction. Selected schematic design objects are placed on the Windows clipboard as graphical objects during the cut operation, and can by pasted into external Windows applications. Text placed on the Windows clipboard can be pasted into a schematic Text Frame object.

If the Clipboard Reference option is disabled, it is advisable to use the shortcut to launch the command.
